The people of the Dordogne never cease to amaze me with their dynamism and so when I saw this idea, I just had to share it. From the top of the world to the valley of the Dordogne. The Emerveillement photographic exhibition by Mattieu Ricard is presented inside la Roque Saint-Christophe prehistoric shelter. Truly impressive!

Born in France, Mattieu Ricard studied biochemistry before becoming a Buddhist Monk, humanitarian, author and photographer. He now lives in Nepal.

Half-way between les Eyzies and Montignac-Lascaux, in the heart of the “vallée de l’Homme”, la Roque Saint-Christophe is an impressive and natural, prehistoric shelter measuring 1 km long and 80 metres high. And it is here in this amazing place where the two come together – Ricard’s photography of the natural world and humanity in such an important place for the human race.

The Emerveillement photographic exhibition runs from 1 June to 30 September 2023.
